A Romantic Holiday Shopping Getaway with Dickens
Enjoy a romantic Victorian Christmas Weekend at an elegant bed and breakfast inn in Northeastern Connecticut's Quiet Corner and get a little holiday shopping done at the same time. One highlight of the weekend will be the chance to shop for unusual and unique gifts at various Artists’ Open Studios, an area-wide event that showcases numerous artists and artisans working in many media. Another highlight will be an exclusive, lantern-light tour of Roseland Cottage Museum with its Victorian holiday decorations that recreate the Christmas of 1887.
The weekend culminates with a sumptuous Christmas dinner right out of Charles Dickens’ “Christmas Carol”, consisting of roast goose, roast beef, assorted vegetables, fine wines and a flaming plum pudding. This Victorian-period dinner will take place on Saturday night in an intimate dining room at The Inn at Woodstock Hill in Woodstock , CT.
